The Secret to Flawlessly Pulling Off The Mixed- Patterns Fashion Trend!

The weather has been crazy lately for October! Cold in the morning and night but reaching 80 degrees during the day! It's a constant conflict on how to dress appropriately for the bipolar weather! It's a perfect excuse to try to fit in all those summer pieces u bought near the end of August, and get at least one wear out of them before it turns cold 24/7 and you have to pack them away!
Today I'm showing you how to mix summer and fall pieces and mix patterns, which is always a difficult trend to pull off, because you may feel silly like you don't match! The key to pulling off this mixed- pattern trend is to keep the details small and a bit understated and try to keep a matching color scheme with the outfit. I chose a blue sundress with a detailed bodice and a bold colored zig zag pattern right under the bodice right above the waist, and a blue, black, and cream colored  tribal print fringe blazer for over the dress. The jacket is the main pattern that draws in attention, and the simple pattern under the bodice on the solid colored dress doesn't make the outfit feel crazy and totally mismatched because it's understated compared to the jacket.
The main things to focus on while mixing patterns are these two tips: 1. Keep the patterns you're mixing simple, because if you have two big bold prints that are completely different you'll surely be fined by the fashion police ASAP! The 2nd tip for mastering this trend is to keep the patterns you're mixing within the same color scheme! This will ensure your outfit will all come together nicely in the end!

Chef Delco: Fancy Truffle Pasta

Tonight I surprised my family with a new dish I created on the spur! I just had to share with you all because it was slammin'! I saw this bottle of truffle oil in our pantry and thought ooh fancy! It sounded different and I never cooked with it before, so I decided to be inventive with it!  Estimated total cook time was 30-40 mins.  I created the magical pasta dish as follows: I cooked 1 1/2 cups of chopped fresh mushrooms, 2 shallots chopped long ways and thin, and 1 large clove of fresh garlic in a little less than 1/3 cup of truffle oil in a pan. I cooked the penne as I let the mushrooms and shallots mixture simmer over low heat on the stove to cook through in the truffle oil. After the pasta was cooked I drained it and returned it to the pot with about a table spoon of the starchy water still remaining in the pot. Then I mixed in the mushroom and shallot mixture into the pasta, along with a cup of grated parmesan cheese, and an extra drizzle of the truffle oil.  The f...

Cute, Comfy, and Casual Spring OOTD

The weather for it being APRIL has been cray cray lately! It's cold one day, raining the next, and recently it's been turning for the better and getting a little warmer. It's tough to decide on what to wear to dress accordingly to the weather since it's so unpredictable throughout the day.  I decided to do a OOTD (outfit of the day) for welcoming this transforming spring weather. I decided to do a little California vibe to the look by adding my new Dimepiece "Ain't No Wifey" beanie I just bought! I've been wanting it forever and FINALLY just bought it when it went on sale, so I was super hype about it! :) Boyfriend jeans are perfect for a casual laid back cute spring look! I paired my AE boyfriend jeans with a basic gray vneck from Target I got for like $5. I decided to keep the accessories simple with a thin gold bracelet, and a double stranded chain spike necklace to add some cool edge to the look. To complete this look, I was excited to break out th...

My 1st Delco Beautorial: Ooh La La!

Bonjour! Sorry it's been  a while since I last posted! I was feeling very French inspired today! It could have just been because my sweater says "ooh la la" on it, or the fact that I've been randomly craving french macarons for the past 24 hours.. Who knows! On my way home from work I made a quick detour to Crêperie Béchamel in Wayne to pick up some macarons! Randomly getting French macarons on a Thursday... Who do I think I am Blair Waldorf? In my defense, it's almost the weekend and I've made it this far in the week without oversleeping for work a single day, so like the saying goes "Treat yoself!" It just so happens I recently purchased three of the NYX macaron lippies and I've been dying to try them out. This season is all about rocking unusual and bold lip colors so I wanted to try 3 out of the ordinary shades! I bought the colors Rose (Barbie pink), Earl Grey (light blue), and Pistachio (pastel green). So to go along with my Fren...
