Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival at Franklin Square

I love Philly, because there is honestly never a dull moment! There is constantly something fun and unique popping up all over our city. Last night my man and I went to check out the annual pop up at Franklin Square, the Chinese Lantern Festival. It was such a cool festival to walk through and see all of the beautiful huge lanterns all over the square on a crisp Spring night. One display was more magnificent than the next, ranging from a giant walkway of zodiac symbols to a ginormous underwater theme display with giant jellyfish and other  sea creatures. The festival also offers traditional Chinese eats and crafts as you stroll through the Square, admiring the lanterns. This year at the festival there will be performances offered every thirty minutes as well as handicrafters offering sugar painting and traditional Chinese hand drawings, and much more. Also, be sure to check out the newly rebuilt 200 foot Chinese Dragon, the fan favorite of the festival, located in the center of t

Kicking off Summer from Spruce Street Harbor Park to South Street!

Last night I attended the Spruce Street Harbor Park kickoff party, which was my official kick off of Summer!  I got to sip watermelon margaritas and eat ice cream from Franklin Fountain with my best friend💕 on the waterfront, sitting in the sand, with music playing, and minus the crowds... it was a perfect Thursday night.  After we sampled the foods that will be featured at Harbor Park this season, and walked along the waterfront some, we took a little impromptu trip over to South Street to check out Eye's Gallery. I have been following Eye's Gallery on Instagram for a while, and have always been captivated by all of their colorful, cultural rich posts, and have been dying to go in-person.  Eye's Gallery is a beautiful little gem hidden in the middle of South Street. The gallery is a majorly co lorful bazaar and museum filled to the brim with Indian & Latin American folk art, jewelry & handmade gifts. One thing is cooler than the next as you walk through all

On the first Monday in May, the Met Gala red carpet is where the wildest and most daring fashions are on full display.....except this year is recieving backlash for being a snoozefest! Last night's Met Gala was celebrating the opening of the Costume Institute’s exhibition, “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between.” Mostly all of the celebrities who took the carpet decided to go more simple and elegant, which was not the point of this red carpet!? I don't mean get too crazy with your look, like holding your cut off dreads in your hand as an accessory... cough cough... ... but at least take a little more risk with your outfit. Most people looked more Oscars worthy than Met.  With the theme being Comme des Garçons, if you're going to go simple, at least have some decency and slap a little heart with eyes somewhere on your outfit!😉 Thankfully there were a few fashion risk takers who dressed according to theme and killed the red carpet, l
